Medieval meets Modern life – On top of the mountain with a fantastic view over the surrounding landscape sits the medieval part of Les Arcs. Small cobblestoned streets, ancient well-kept buildings, hidden passages and a small museum complete the historic experience.
Thursday is market day in Les Arcs. You can the usual market goods such as local grown fruit and vegetables and regional delicacies. But there are also household goods, lingerie and toys on sale. You should visit a market at least once while you are on holiday in the south of France.
You can still see the damage the heavy thunderstorms and floods of 2010 caused in Les Arcs. The path of the mudslide that led through the village and destroyed the amphitheater is still visible.
There is a TGV stop in Les Arcs. If you want to take a trip to Paris, you can be there in less than 4 hours.
